We are engaged in areas where we see a lack in responsibility. Quality and service are the centre of our daily work.
Centre for the Preservation of World Cultural Heritage
The primary mission of the Hornemann Institute is to promote world-wide further education and research in the field of preservation of cultural heritage.
We promote further education
- by mediating research results and up-to-date fundamental knowledge in our online courses
- by organising international conferences to encourage direct professional exchange
- by publishing series of publications
- compiling and publishing annotated lists of links, e.g. on how to find books and articles, electronic publications or distance learning courses
We promote research
- with our E-publishing of university papers, conference papers, essays, project documentation, videos, and posters
- by carrying out own interdisciplinary and transnational research, e.g. EwaGlos
- by developing online information structures, e. g. specialized Wikis
We promote the quality of teaching through
- Our courses assist transfer students in entering the conservation degree programme at HAWK.
- Students can learn free of charge, independent of location and time, and supported by multimedia, even on topics that are not in our curriculum.
- English courses enable training in technical language.
- Possibility of e-publishing abstracts or even full texts with persistent identifiers.
- Publication of students' research results in our publication series
- We take suggestions from students on topics for online courses and events.
- We involve them as speakers or authors of posters in our events.
- We offer qualified student assistant jobs.
