“The task and aim of our courses are to enable you to develop your creative potential.”
Prof. Hartwig Gebracht

What is this study programme all about?

Creative people are in demand here, because design is all about your ideas for shaping the future, finding creative problem solutions and working with and for people.

You are challenged from the first thought to the final design.

The focus of the course is not only on having you acquire knowledge in the areas of conception, creation, specialist theory and technologies, but also on developing skills for your future professional life, such as team and project work.

You can design the contents of your studies individually. After one semester of basic theory, you can take up one of our nine fields of competence and at the same time gain interdisciplinary knowledge and experience from courses in the other fields of competence:

What can I do with it later?

After graduation, you can work as a freelance or employed designer.

Depending on your area of expertise, your potential employers may be communications agencies, architects' offices, advertising and graphics agencies, the design departments of large companies or publishing houses.

What makes this study programme special?

The variety of subjects and the combination possibilities of the fields of competence in our degree programme are unique in Germany.

In addition to theoretical knowledge and general artistic basics, you will also receive comprehensive training in methodological competence and practical skills.

In our numerous, well-equipped workshops and laboratories, you will apply the knowledge you have learned and gain the skills you need to understand the historical, social and socio-cultural framework of design practice.

You will strengthen your social skills through group work and joint projects, because in the professional field of design, individual ability is just as important as extensive teamwork.
