To enable a better assessment and a sensory connection
One of HAWK’s key strengths lies in the application of knowledge. In the Faculty of Design, this strength is evident, amongst other things, in the numerous workshops, which are very well supervised and offer a wide variety of technologies and a broad range of materials.
HAWK’s material archives at the Hildesheim campus are made digitally accessible via the overarching materials library. Here, students can search for materials and their locations. The materials are available for viewing in their respective archives, which, particularly in design, enables a better assessment and also allows for a sensory connection.
The Online-Materialdatabank has been running since 2019 as a joint initiative between the HAWK-Faculty Build and maintain with the Hanover Study Centre of the DIPLOMA University build and with the HAWK-Faculty of Design further developed. The materials database is available to students for online research into materials for architecture and design.
