Timo Rieke (*1975, Hanover) studied social sciences at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen between 1995 and 1998 and moved to the Faculty of Design at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen (HAWK) in 1998. After a study stay in Finland, he graduated as a designer (colour design) in summer 2003. In 2006 the studio moved to Vienna.

Since 2004 he has been working for the architectural office Coop Himmelb(l)au in Vienna, most recently as Head of Graphic Design and Senior Associate, in the fields of architecture, mediation, colour design, product design, exhibition design and graphic design for a wide range of international projects.

In October 2008 his book "haptic visuals - surface and structure, colour and its relation to tactile perception" was published.

Timo Rieke is a member of the German Colour Centre.

"If one understands that seeing is largely based on tactile experience, then design elements such as colour become play elements of a world based on movement dynamics and immediate feeling".  Haptic Visuals, 2008
