Johanna Schäfers is honoured for her master's thesis. It was created by Prof. Dr. Stephan Schwingeler and Prof. Alessio Leonardi is supervised.
Misled by her personal perception of floral motifs on everyday objects, in fashion, and in advertising, she assumed that flowers are a symbol of femininity. Her work is dedicated to the symbolic meaning of flowers in relation to femininity in cultural, social, and historical contexts. Johanna Schäfers wants her work to be understood as an impetus to question one's own design practice in light of current societal processes.
