General university entrance qualification, subject-linked university entrance qualification or subject-linked entrance qualification on the basis of previous vocational training.

A prerequisite for the study programme is also a contract for academic midwifery training with the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) as the cooperating responsible practice institution.

Students enrolled in the midwifery programme are also required to have an enhanced police clearance certificate and a health certificate. Both certificates must be presented to the responsible practice institution (UMG).

A minimum 4-week pre-study internship in obstetrics with the opportunity to attend births is also required. Preferably in a clinical setting. The certificate must be presented to HAWK.

The application must be accompanied by the following documents – certified copies in the case of certificates and supporting documents:

• Application letter for enrolment (will be generated on the application portal)
• Proof of general university entrance qualification, entrance qualification for studies at universities of applied sciences or subject-related university entrance qualification
• Curriculum vitae (in tabular form) with passport photograph, return postage
• Proof of contract for academic midwifery training (contract with UMG)
• Proof of a minimum 4-week pre-study internship in obstetrics with the opportunity to attend births
• If applicable, de-registration certificate
• If applicable, certificate of military service, civilian service or voluntary service performed
• If applicable, proof of recognized German language examination

If applying for acceptance into a higher semester, the performance records for placement are also required.

Second-degree applicants are also required to submit a written description of their study motivation (max. one page).

Applicants must enter the data required for application and enrolment via the HAWK application portal (online application).

The application portal will be activated at least six weeks before the application deadline.

For applications from abroad, the German Language Test for University Admission (DSH) or comparable qualifications are required to prove the applicant’s knowledge of the German language.

Proof of successfully passing a recognized German language examination is required.

The following certificates will be accepted:

• TestDaF from the TestDaF Institute, Level 4
• DSH, Level 2
• C2 certificate from the Goethe Institute
• telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule
• DSD (German language diploma from the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs), Level 2
