Programme to promote student mobility abroad
As part of the PROMOS programme, HAWK awards scholarships for short-term study and internship stays abroad. Through the various funding instruments of this programme, HAWK sets its own priorities that align with the university’s internationalisation strategy.
The scholarships are financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds from the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). In 2026, all students enrolled at HAWK with the aim of completing a degree – both German and international students – are eligible to apply for PROMOS funding via the International Office.

The Federal Foreign Office currently advises against travel to many countries and regions in this area. Please note that PROMOS scholarships cannot be granted for stays in countries for which a travel warning has been issued. Due to the ongoing war against Ukraine, no PROMOS funding will be granted for stays in the Russian Federation or Belarus until further notice.
