What is this study programme all about?

If you decide to take this study programme, then you can expect traditional training in architecture. This is the first stage of our forward-looking two-stage training programme.
You will learn the basics concerning the construction-technical, ecological and economic aspects of architecture on the basis of broad, practice-oriented teaching. In small groups, you will acquire basic knowledge in the following areas:

  • building material science, building physics, energy efficiency, building construction
  • Structural mechanics, design, urban planning, technical building equipment
  • Construction operation, building law
  • Work technique/methods

What can I do with it after graduation?

After graduating, you will be able to work in traditional architecture, real estate and engineering firms. Tasks in associations and specialist media or in the public service sector are also options for you, such as in urban planning, building administration or in monument protection.

Furthermore, many of our students plan their future careers in construction companies or housing associations. Or you stay in research and work for a university or private institution.

As you can see, the possibilities on the job market are many and varied, and if you follow up with a Master's degree, self-employment is also a possible choice. Finally, let it be said that our students also have particularly good chances on the international job market.

What makes this study programme special?

This study programme contains both well-founded theoretical basics and their practical application. We attach particular importance to a high degree of interdisciplinarity through close cooperation with other degree programmes. This also includes the offer of additional qualifications, e.g. in the field of business administration and energy-efficient construction. Your studies will be rounded off by interesting excursions and workshops at home and abroad.
