ECTS stands for the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System. Credits are a measure of the workload required by individual university courses and are recognised throughout the European Higher Education Area. 1 ECTS equates to a workload of 25 to 30 hours. ECTS are not grades; they measure the time spent on courses. Grades are also awarded for some courses.
