Individualized and focused: Expanding knowledge and expertise through micro-credentials
The HAWK follows the recommendation of the Council of the European Union (EU), which issued a recommendation in 2022 on a European approach to lifelong learning and employability.
We support lifelong learning with focused and flexible learning opportunities.
What are micro-credentials?
A micro-credential is a short academic course that can have different formats:
- as a face-to-face course
- blended learning format
- online self-study course
- with or without tutorial support.
Upon successful completion of the micro-credential courses, certificates are issued that attest to the acquisition of the respective ECTS credits (with or without a grade).
The certificates can be used for recognition for a university degree or as proof of relevant expertise to your (future) employers and clients.
Who can complete micro-credentials?
Students, graduates, professionals, and interested parties can use HAWK micro-credentials to acquire the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities they need for their personal and professional development. However, the participation requirements for micro-credentials vary, so fulfillment must be checked on a case-by-case basis.
