How we think and work

The study programme deals with the development of spaces that can be used well and have lots of character. During the course of the practically oriented Bachelor's programme, students acquire design skills and basic knowledge for the independent design, planning and creation of spaces and buildings that focus on their interiors.

In interior architecture, you conceive, design and plan rooms that interact with people.
Prof. Günter Weber

In addition, the structure of the study programme based on the Hildesheim model promotes cooperation with other fields of competence (e.g. lighting design, colour design, metal design and product design). The Master's programme (Master of Arts – with an emphasis on interior design) continues the interdisciplinary orientation with a focus on architectural space. Special courses such as "Team and Strategy" and "Design Management" aim to help strategically conceive projects in theory and practice and to carry them out in an interdisciplinary manner. Important steps towards independence can be planned in cooperation with the HAWK start-up centre.
