What is this study programme all about?
The aim of the medical technology study programme is to train engineers closely to the needs of the medical technology market and the healthcare system. In addition to a sound technical education in the engineering sciences, they acquire medical expertise that is in high demand and application-oriented.
What can I do with it later?
Graduates of the medical technology programme will find a wide range of job opportunities in biomedical research, the medical technology industry, regulatory authorities and clinics. Their typical tasks are in the areas of research and development, approval of medical devices, clinical research, quality assurance and product management.
What makes this study programme special?
The didactic-methodical concept of the study programme is characterised by a strong orientation of the contents to the market requirements as well as the close integration of the technical disciplines at HAWK and the medical disciplines of the University Medical Centre Göttingen (UMG).
A special feature of the study programme on the Health Campus is cross-occupational learning (e.g. with students studying therapy sciences, nursing or medicine) right from the start.
Thus, in addition to job-specific modules, studying at the Health Campus also includes interprofessionally designed modules, in which students carry out joint study projects, for example. Your studies are completed with a practical phase in the 6th semester, during which you prepare your Bachelor’s thesis and provides you with a smooth transition into professional life.
