“Your goal: Educational work with children from 0 to 10. Our offer: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, scientifically founded and practice-oriented.”
Prof. Dr. Ruth Jäger-Jürgens

What is this study programme all about?

It’s all about the science behind professional work with children and families and how to apply it in actual practice. And it's about connecting your newly learned skills with the experience you've already gained to provide you with sound competences in the field of early childhood education. To this end, your studies are divided into six areas:

  • General basics
  • Childhood education and didactics
  • Psychology and health
  • Academic writing
  • Professional orientation
  • Advanced studies/individual area of specialisation

Current results from science and research in childhood education are continuously incorporated into the curriculum.

What can I do with it later?

This study programme looks at early childhood education from an academic point of view according to the European model in order to optimally promote the development of children. It opens up career opportunities, for example, in management functions and childhood research.

In close cooperation with early childhood education institutions in the Hildesheim area, we train you so that you can later take on an important role working in early childhood education.

Your potential employers are day care centres for children as well as child and youth welfare facilities, in which the education, care and upbringing of children up to the age of ten and the cooperation with their legal guardians are of central importance.

What makes this study programme special?

The special orientation of our study programme makes it something special: When designing your studies, we concentrate on a mixture of theory and practice with an aesthetic focus.

Aesthetic education is an approach in which sensual experiences are the starting point of human education and development. In this way, you not only analyse situations and observations, but also combine theoretical knowledge with the results of your own sensory experiences.

An important basis for all those who believe that early childhood education is their calling.
